Jed Levy is
a freelance composer/saxophonist living and workin
g out
of New York. In addition to leading his own groups, he has had
longstanding working relationships with such jazz luminaries as Jaki
Byard, Don Patterson and Jack McDuff, in addition to performing with
such renowned artists as Cedar Walton, Tom Harrell and Curtis Fuller.
Levy has toured Europe and Japan and led bands at famous New York
clubs including Blue Note, Birdland, Sweet Basil, Visiones and Zinno.
His recent Steeplechase release, ROUND AND ROUND is receiving critical
acclaim around the world. He has become recognized as one of New York’s
finest saxophonists- a sensitive improviser with a beautiful warm tone
and lyrical approach to writing and playing.
